The Kempe Foundation is a 501c (3) nonprofit organization focused on the prevention and treatment of child abuse, neglect and trauma. I have worked for the Kempe Foundation for over six years, and I am more passionate than ever about our cause.

This year, Kempe has a goal to raise $100,000 on Colorado Gives Day and we can do this with your help.  My personal fundraising goal this year is $1,250. We measure our impact by the reach of the programs we support, the ability of our advocacy work to influence system change, and the donors and volunteers we engage in this work.

We pride ourselves in helping to bring hope to children and families. At the Kempe Foundation, our hope for the future is based on our belief that children are resilient. Through world-class care for traumatized children and families, we strive to ensure all children have the opportunity to grow and develop in a supportive, safe, and healthy environment.

From year to year, I enjoy sharing a video and pictures of my family, who are supportive, encouraging to me and keen to help Kempe Foundation through their volunteerism and donations.

My family was personally touched by the death of our sweet 3-year-old Kayliana, who died on June 11th, 2021 from ingestion of fentanyl due to child neglect. Her presence is often in my mind when I enter through the doors of the Kempe Center for work.

On June 3, 2022, an 8-year-old by the name of Dametrious Wilson was found dead in Denver, Colorado due to abuse. His great-aunt was charged with his murder.

Please click on the link below to hear more about Dametrious Wilson's story.

Unfortunately, the news is constantly filled with stories like Kayliana and Dametrious in Colorado and elsewhere.

Caring for children requires teamwork. The Kempe Foundation invests in the people and programs that create better outcomes for children across the state. Our unwavering hope for a safe and healthy future for all children and families depends on the support of caring people like you. It is genuinely impossible for me to express to you how much we appreciate your support and how significant your donations are to Kempe.

Our impact truly changes lives. When children get the help they need from Kempe Center professionals, they begin to live healthier and happier lives. Your donation allows us to advance training for the next generation of pediatricians and professionals who strive to keep our children safe and healthy.

You can support the Kempe Foundation by making a donation today. Thank you so much!
