When reflecting upon the last year for Mountain Pride, we must start with our history. In 2020 amidst a global pandemic and isolation, Britny Rose, a local transgender woman, inquired about Eagle County not having a Pride Festival. Within seven days of asking that question, she organized a successful pride festival attended by hundreds. This resulted in the formation of a "Pride Committee '' composed of queer Eagle County residents committed to growing and strengthening the LGBTQ+ community and its allies in Eagle County.

From there, Eagle County Pride hosted a variety of social events, meet-and-greets, and self-care activities. Resulting in the success of our outreach efforts and the desire to serve as a resource for the neighboring communities, our organization grew to serve not only the LGBTQ+ communities in Eagle County but also the LGBTQ+ communities throughout the mountains of Colorado, prompting us to change our name to Mountain Pride and seek 501(c)3 status.

The courage and vulnerability that started the first Pride in the Park and Eagle County Pride guide us today. Today, Mountain Pride is a 501c3 nonprofit delivering life-changing and -saving programming year-round through our core program areas of education, community, advocacy, and resources.

As we continue to improve the lived experience of our LGBTQ+ community, we hope you will join us in creating sustainable change in our community, making Eagle County and the mountains of Colorado a more inclusive place for all.

Mountain Pride is a proud partner of Eagle Valley Behavioral Health.
