The COSC Peer Support Network creates a peer network where clients work together to build a better community by developing the 5 Pillars of COSC: Housing, Employment, Basic Needs, Peer-to-Peer Support, and Community Wealth to create a pathway for all to emotional wellbeing.
5 Program Pillars:
1. Housing Program: COSC manages 48 housing units: New Charity House Apartments (36 permanent supportive units), Charity House on High (6 transitional units), Charity House on Cook (6 transitional units). COSC Housing Navigators provide help with housing referrals, rental assistance, resources, and HMIS (Homeless Management Information Systems) registration.
2. Basic Needs Program: Peer support digital navigation for PEAK, SNAP, Medicaid, ID Vouchers, clothing bank and Agape Soul Food pantry, COSC hosts weekly community meals for the What's up Wednesday and Real Talk for our unhoused community to create for real conversations sharing soul food.
3. Peer Support Program: Peer navigators assist marginalized individuals with one on one/group mentoring and help accessing mental health/treatment options, community referrals via network then build long term relationships.
