Growing Gardens has become a nationally recognized leader in sustainable urban agriculture and education programs and has connected more than 199,000 people to their food, the land, and each other since 1998.
Growing Gardens' programs empower people of all ages, income levels, and abilities by reconnecting them with their local food systems and teaching gardening, cooking, and nutrition education.
Every year over 20,000 pounds of produce, as well as 20,000 plant seedlings and seeds, are donated to low-income community members to impart greater food security and hunger relief in our community.
A note from Lauren:
What a magnificent (and busy) growing season it has been out on farm and in the greenhouses. There are so many highlights and memorable moments - here are a few I'd like to share:
This year brought change and growth in our Children's Garden. We worked with a local company to expand the garden for more vegetable production and educational ease. I had the opportunity to help with the design and execution. I am thrilled with how it turned out (and so are the kiddos)!
We grew Ginger for the first time EVER this year! What a fun plant to have in the greenhouse. Also, I had the privilege to grow many herbs for tea blends, tinctures, and community care. I am grateful for the land we steward and for all the gifts of the season.
Thank you to all of the wonderful humans in my life that have encouraged my work here in Boulder, CO. If you are able, I hope you will join me in supporting the great work of Growing Gardens this holiday season.
Big hugs!
