Specialized Analysis Fund

Last year, you helped raise over $15,000 for the Holt-Picture Canyons field project that was very successful! This year, we are seeking donations to extend the budgets of multiple projects for specialized analyses. Your donations will help fund things like: 

• Additional radiocarbon dates from the Bunker site in the San Luis Valley 
• Macrofloral analysis to determine what plant species people were using at Cedar Shelter (the Chancellor Ranch rockshelter)
• Analyses of bullets and shell casings to refine the dating of multiple sites at Chancellor Ranch and Vogel Canyon

These are just a few of the analyses we anticipate in the coming year that will require additional funding. A typical radiocarbon date costs at least $600. Macrofloral analyses range from $250 to $500 per sample. Project budgets often do not have room for these specialized analyses and we need your help to expand our research and the history we can unlock with these funds!
