We're raising funds to purchase medical equipment to open a clinic in Askar Refugee Camp in Nablus

The need for medical care in Askar Refugee Camp (Askar) in the West Bank of Palestine is significant. UNRWA currently operates the one clinic in the camp but the Israeli government just declared that they are no longer welcome in all of the West Bank. This is the only medical care available not only to residents of Askar Camp but to 180,000 residents of the eastern portion of Nablus. The complete lack of clinics or healthcare centers will force individuals to seek assistance at private clinics on the western side of the city. That may not seem like much, but given rampant unemployment, exacerbated by over a year of heightened nightly incursions, checkpoints, persecution, restrictions, and all manner of harassment, it actually places medical care beyond the reach of way too many Askar Refugee Camp residents.

We are working to open a clinic in Askar Camp that offers diagnostic tools and equipment, a dental clinic, and emergency medical treatment. The clinic will have a small laboratory (urine and blood analysis), ultra sound, an x-ray unit, an emergency room, general medicine, and a dental unit – all of which will contribute significantly to the ability to provide healthcare to the residents of Askar Refugee Camp and the surrounding area.

Your support in helping to open a medical clinic will improve the health and well-being for thousands of Askar Camp and area residents.
