Cheryl's Fundraiser to help single-parents!

As many of you know, I started working at Project Self-Sufficiency about a year ago.  One of the reasons I chose to come here is my passion for helping people.  After starting here, that passion has just grown stronger, especially for helping single parents!  I was incredibly blessed to have grown up in a 2 parent home where both parents had college degrees and I'm incredibly fortunate to be able to raise my 2 children with the support of my amazing husband.  I know am incredibly fortunate.  In the past year, working here has shined a light on exactly how privileged my family really is.  And that isn't about money.  When my kids applied for financial aid, I helped them with the FASFA.  We helped advise them on classes to take.  Helped problem solve when issues come up.  These are things I've taken for granted and it is something that many single parents who are trying to go back to school don't have.  I am so proud to work for this amazing agency which meets single parents where they are at, helps stabilize them and is with them for their entire journey through college and then helps them find a living wage for themselves and their families.
