In the past year of working at Reach Out and Read Colorado, I have seen firsthand the impressive power of reading! The stories I have heard from pediatricians and parents alike about how much Reach Out and Read Colorado has impacted them are amazing and inspiring.

I grew up with thousands of books in my home library and I really believe that having a home library is essential for children. I hope you can join me in supporting Reach Out and Read Colorado for Colorado Gives Day, and you will not only be building bright futures for the 125,000+ kids that Reach Out and Read Colorado supports each year, but also brighter futures for communities all across the state!

Your donation will help support Reach Out and Read Colorado as we partner with pediatricians throughout the state to 'prescribe' high quality books and provide guidance for parents/caregivers at more than 327,000 well-child visits this year.  Help out this year by spreading the word, re-sharing this post, telling a friend, or consider donating!

Reach Out and Read Colorado’s program not only provides underserved families with books to build home libraries like I grew up with, but it also promotes learning and skill building for both parents and children. The simple act of unplugging and reading a book together is proven to increase brain and language development, create strong parent-child connections, and improve kindergarten readiness— And when a child is set up for success from an early age, the possibilities and opportunities are endless!

Thank you so much for considering a donation to Reach Out and Read Colorado during Colorado Gives Day! Your support means so much to children across Colorado and so much to me!
