Hello! I’m The Orchestrator, a saxophonist based in Denver. I am passionate about supporting youth through music, and for some time, I’ve considered starting my own nonprofit to provide opportunities for young people to develop their musical talents. However, after researching organizations that align with this mission, I’ve found that Youth on Record already embodies the values I aspire to promote. They offer a platform for young artists to cultivate their skills, and their work is integral to the local community.
That being said, I also believe in the importance of ensuring that youth are not unduly influenced by corporate interests that suppress local talent in the name of profit. Companies like Live Nation and AEG, with their pervasive presence on boards and in the industry, often claim to support local artists, but in practice, they prioritize their own business interests over the growth of emerging talent. I would like to see less of this corporate influence in organizations like Youth on Record, so that the focus remains squarely on empowering young musicians and fostering a genuine, supportive environment.
By raising money for Youth on Record, I aim to put my commitment into action. I want to show my dedication to local causes, and in doing so, I hope to create tangible change within the community before considering the creation of my own nonprofit. I truly believe that supporting an established organization like Youth on Record will not only help the youth, but also demonstrate how a community can thrive when it is given the resources and autonomy to flourish, free from the heavy hand of corporate control.
