Hi! Welcome to Roen’s personal fundraising page for The Rise School of Denver, a high-quality inclusive preschool that supports young children with and without disabilities. The Rise School officially launched as a nonprofit in 2003 when six families with young children with Down syndrome came together to create our inclusive preschool - one that has touched the lives of hundreds of families over the years since then, including ours!
Rise is a place where every child is included and genuine friendships are fostered every day along with individualized learning goals that develop each child's strengths. Rise provides a low adult-to-child ratio, master's degree teachers, highly trained teacher assistants, and expert therapists who enrich the development of every child with and without disabilities.
Roen’s Story: Roen was diagnosed with hydrocephalus, caused by a brain malformation called aqueductal stenosis at just 3 months old. Our brave girl had brain surgery at 4 months old, and continues to make incredible strides with her growth and development. Rise has been life-changing for Roen-from supportive and loving teachers and therapists to the social explosion we’re seeing with Roen and her new friends at school. We are forever grateful for becoming a part of the Rise community. It’s hard to grasp just how magical this school is (art, music, speech, feeding, occupational and physical therapy!) and the good it is doing for so many families like ours.
To keep tuition accessible and affordable for all our families, tuition only covers 43% of Rise's operating costs. The remaining 57% is raised through grants and donations, which is why I'm sharing our personal fundraising page with you. Will you donate to support the difference that Rise makes for our family and so many others?
With love, Chris, Heather & Roen
