About the Ezequiel Roberto Trujillo Scholarship:
The Ezequiel Roberto Trujillo Legacy Scholarship does more than provide financial support—it keeps Ezequiel’s lifelong values alive by helping ambitious students achieve their dreams. One such recipient, Ashley, is a first-generation college student at CU Boulder. As the eldest in her family, she dreamed of attending college but faced financial challenges. Through the Trujillo Scholarship, Ashley could afford her education at CU Boulder and inspire her younger siblings to aim high.
When you donate, you’re not only funding college tuition but enabling a ripple effect of opportunity and hope. Each donation helps students like Ashley reach their potential, contribute to their community, and uphold Ezequiel’s vision of lifting future generations.
By contributing today, you can be part of this legacy of determination, community, and empowerment. Let’s help more students realize their dreams, just as Ezequiel would have wanted.
Read Ezequiel's Story:
Ezequiel Roberto Trujillo was a true family man who grew up with humble beginnings in the San Luis Valley. He held firm beliefs in the power of education and worked hard his entire life. He prioritized college for his children, even though he did not have the opportunity to attend college himself. He knew that college for his children would impact generations to come. He also held strong convictions for giving back to the community and serving as a vessel for helping others.
He and his wife, Deluvina Ortega Trujillo, made it their main mission to send all of their children to college and paid for them in full, putting in extra hours at work because they knew the sacrifice was worth it. All three of the children graduated from Westminster Public Schools when it was still Adams 50. Their three children became first-generation college graduates and became a school counselor, a pharmacist, and a principal right here in Westminster Public Schools. They are the living and breathing version of his dream come true. Ezequiel passed away peacefully in 2014, with all of his family surrounding him.
His family would like to give back to the Westminster Public Schools community just as he would’ve wanted. We knew the best way to honor him would be to support the dreams of other children who want to make a difference and pursue a college education.
