Founded in 2022, WDC works to advance prosperity, well-being and societal transformation among women, youth, BIPOC and disadvantaged communities. We use a whole person approach focused on economic empowerment, community building, community investments, and health and mental well-being initiatives that include education, skill development, civic engagement, coaching and more. Our work is grounded in principles of equity, safety, and self-determination.
CORE BELIEFS
Education – We believe knowledge is power, and we aim to connect women with education, resources and tools that enable them to lead to prosperity.
Support – We believe women and youth who have faced systemic disadvantages can overcome any obstacles with the right support. We aim to nurture and promote success, and to connect them with their peers and others who can provide guidance and encouragement.
Empowerment – We believe that resilience, combined with grit and self-determination allows people to reach their full potential. We use the mantra “It’s not about moving the mountain; It’s about our commitment to climbing it, and our dedication to keep going.”
Indicators of Success –We believe success is achieved when people are happy, healthy, safe and have achieved financial security and independence.
