The Meeker Herald began printing in October of 1885. It continues to print once a week to this day, telling the stories of Rio Blanco County's residents.

As with many small newspapers, competing with free social media and internet marketing for advertising dollars has taken a toll, and the Herald is working to ensure the continuation of an essential community resource through new funding opportunities.
