The Nico Fund Fundraiser

On May 20th, I will be running the Urban 10 Miler at the Colfax Marathon in memory of my nephew Nico Daniel Ericson. My brother-in-law Sean and sister-in-law Mary welcomed Nico into the world in November of 2020. He lived 8 days surrounded by an immense amount of love as I watched his mom and dad face the unimaginable. There are no words to express the pain we watched them endure, and see them continue to feel after losing their second son. As we search for ways to honor Nico and show support to Sean and Mary, I am taking this opportunity to help raise funds for The Nico Fund, a charitable account at the Community Foundation that was created to honor the memory of Nico and provide financial support to organizations that directly supported him and our family. These organizations include Children’s Hospital Foundation, Ronald McDonald House, 3Hopeful Heart and the CHARGE Foundation (Nico was born with CHARGE syndrome - a very rare genetic disorder that affects multiple parts of the body).

The Nico Fund is a wonderful way to make a positive impact and create a legacy that will continue to benefit others for years to come.
