The Village Exchange Center (VEC) stands as a beacon of hope and stability for immigrants, refugees, and asylum seekers in Aurora, Colorado. In an era marked by uncertainty and growing division, our mission to champion human values, dignity, and equity has never been more crucial. Today, we need your support to protect some of our community’s most vulnerable members who face an escalating threat of deportation.

Why This Fundraiser Matters

Over the past 16 months, VEC has become a primary support organization for thousands of newcomers, especially Venezuelan immigrants and refugees. Through our dedication and tireless work, we ha

- Provided nearly **30,000 people** weekly food via our food pantry

- Managed **over 2,500 individual cases** with personalized care

- Provided **housing assistance to 137 families** seeking stability

- Facilitated **over 10,000 vaccinations** to promote public health

- Assisted **more than 600 people** in securing their Temporary Protected Status (TPS)

Each week, we support nearly 3,000 people from over 42 countries of origin, offering culturally appropriate food, hygiene products, health resources, and comprehensive wraparound services. However, the threat of mass deportations now casts a shadow over these families, causing intense fear and uncertainty about their futures. A question we hear far too often is, *“When will I be forced to leave?”*

The Critical Role of Cultural Navigators

Cultural navigators are essential members of the VEC team. They serve as trusted guides who help individuals navigate complex legal, economic, and health challenges. With their support, community members navigate complex resource needs that may arise over the coming months and years.

The presence of these navigators is a lifeline for many, offering not just assistance, but hope and empowerment during uncertain times.

OUR COLORADO GIVES DAY GOAL

To address the urgent and growing needs of our community, VEC is raising funds to expand our team of cultural navigators. Each full-time cultural navigator costs $65,000 annually, including benefits. We aim to hire **five additional cultural navigators** to ensure that more individuals receive the critical guidance they need.
