As a father and member of the Clyfford Still Museum's board of directors, I’m proud to support programs that introduce children to the wonder of art and creativity from the very start. That’s why I’m committed to raising funds for CSM’s innovative youth programs—Art Crawl, Art Making, and inStill School Experiences—which foster artistic expression in meaningful, lasting ways.
Children are natural artists who connect instinctively with the abstract and expressive works of Clyfford Still. In CSM’s Art Crawl program, babies and their caregivers explore the galleries together in an inclusive, welcoming environment guided by passionate museum educators. These educators create engaging, sensory-rich experiences that spark creativity and joy in our youngest visitors. This impactful program has inspired other museums to adopt similar initiatives, and CSM is partnering with local nonprofits to extend Art Crawl into the community, reaching families who may not otherwise visit the museum.
With this growth comes an urgent need for support to keep Art Crawl thriving. Funds raised will go directly toward compensating our skilled educators, ensuring high-quality materials, and expanding outreach efforts to connect with more families and neighborhoods across Colorado.
For slightly older children, our Maker Mornings program provides a space for exploration and discovery. Featuring story time led by a DPL librarian and hands-on activities in The Making Space (our interactive studio), children engage in themed art activities each month. Through play, experimentation, and creation, kids learn and grow. Your contributions will help keep these sessions fresh and exciting by supporting new materials and themes that inspire creativity in every child.
The inStill School Experiences program is especially close to my heart. CSM is dedicated to making art accessible to all children, including those from underfunded schools who might miss out on these powerful experiences. Through inStill, we welcome school groups for engaging tours and interactive sessions with educators to fuel students’ creativity. Contributions to this campaign will cover essential costs such as transportation, scholarships for schools receiving Title 1 and Head Start funding, and additional educator support, ensuring every child, regardless of background, can explore their creative potential.
By joining me in supporting these programs, you’re helping to inspire young artists across Colorado and beyond. Together, we can help kids of all ages discover, explore, and find their voice through art at the Clyfford Still Museum.
