Finish Strong! Campaign

Elderhaus uniquely offers daytime care for adults living with dementia and other disabilities in Northern Colorado. We strive to create a community that every person in attendance finds the place they belong. 

"We cannot separate the importance of a sense of belonging from our physical and mental health. The social ties that accompany a sense of belonging are a protective factor helping manage stress and other behavioral issues. When we feel we have support and are not alone, we are more resilient, often coping more effectively with difficult times in our lives. Coping well with hardships decreases the physical and mental effects of these situations."

Adults living with dementia, brain injury, cerebral palsy, Down's Syndrome, Autism and the like deserve to be seen as their best selves and offered the opportunity to shine in their individual uniqueness. Given an opportunity for creative expression, physical challenges, exposure to the greater community, and friendships - each person finds their value.

Caregivers are given respite and hope. And the greater Northern Colorado Community is enriched.

Our Finish Strong! Campaign focuses on the challenges of building and vehicle ownership. We have a beautiful facility that we all call home each weekday. But it also comes with challenges. Additionally, our participants rely on our fleet of 8 vans to get them to our program and to get them out into the community. This calendar year alone, we have had to revamp our fire suppression (sprinklers) system, do repairs to an elevator and walk-in refrigerator, replace a freezer, replace a vehicle transmission, replace tires and many more minor repairs. These costs are above and beyond our projected budget for 2024. Every gift received will help us put those dollars back into our programs so that we can continue to provide a place to belong for so many!
