A camper's last night at Camp Shady Brook is special. 

At the close of each week, all campers gather to reflect on their experiences. The friends made, the triumphs, the challenges and growth, all that they have learned. This reflection culminates in the candle lighting ceremony, which has a clear message:

A candle can light a thousand others without diminishing its own light. And Camp Shady Brook campers are called to share their light with the others and the world by living our core values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility. 

This is just one small example of what makes Camp Shady Brook so special.

Today, we are asking you to share your light with Camp to ensure that the commitment to our core values continues. Your donation ensures that Camp Shady Brook will be here for campers next summer and generations to come. 

During summer 2022, more than 100 campers requested assistance due to financial hardships. Because of donors like you, no one was turned away!

• Nearly 1/3 of all campers rely on financial assistance to attend camp
• More than $300,000 of financial assistance is provided both campers and nonprofit partner camps
• Average financial assistance award is $376 per camper
• 403 campers from partner organizations representing organizations like the Arthritis Foundation, Seven Stars Foundation, Camp Corral, Elevating Connections Camp to Belong, Camp Hope and more
• Almost 40% of all partner campers are military children
