The Feline Fix was started by Dr. Susanna Russo, DVM and Dr. Erica Rambus, DVM to create and promote a humane and effective trap-neuter-return program to significantly reduce the suffering of feral and vulnerable cat populations across Colorado.  Since 2003, The Feline Fix has opened its own brick and mortar clinic in Commerce City, serving thousands of cats each and every year.

In December of 2023, The Feline Fix spayed it's 50,000th cat!  Today, we are nearing 53,000 cats!

We started a feral kitten foster and adoption program in  2017, with the goal of not only fixing as many kittens as possible (to help end cat overpopulation in Colorado), but to ensure they never return to the streets again.  We do not want them to experience a cruel life of constand hardship and suffering.  As of 2024, we take in over 150 kittens a year and adopt them into forever, loving homes.

Each and every year, more and more cats and kittens need our help (especially when finances become an enormous hardship for people across the state).  We see not only more feral cats being born, but also more stray cats left to fend for themselves when families can no longer afford them.  It is imperative that the underserved have access to affordable spay/neuter, vaccines, and medical treatment.  We see the demand for our clinic's services rising every year and with that, we must increase the money raised in order to fund our programs and the operation of the clinic.  We rely solely on the generosity of supporters like you, as we receive no government funding.

Colorado Gives is a large piece of our funding for the programs we provide throughout the year.  We are so grateful for your support! You are helping us change the lives of SO MANY cats and kittens in need.

Mission

To champion the welfare of all cats, especially the most vulnerable.

Our vision is that Cats live a life free from suffering and are valued and treated with kindness by all.

Background Statement

For more than two decades, The Feline Fix has championed the welfare of all cats via our primary focus areas: Spay/Neuter Services, Fostering & Adoption, and our trap-neuter-return (TNR) Program.

The Feline Fix is one of Colorado's leading spay/neuter resources for free-roaming and stray cats and kittens. To date we have spayed/neutered more than 52,000 cats at our clinic, preventing the births of hundreds of thousands of unwanted cats in Denver and its surrounding areas.

Our foster and adoption program focuses on the most vulnerable kittens in feral cat colonies. Our volunteers socialize these kittens in order for them to find forever homes.

The Feline Fix continues to demonstrate collaboration within the community and other animal welfare agencies. We are proud to be a member of the Metro Denver Animal Welfare Alliance, and continue to serve as a partner with many other local and regional cat rescues and shelters.

The Feline Fix also offers a free humane trap rental program to support our neighbors in their efforts to humanely control the free roaming cat populations in their area.
