Love Your Trails!

Trails don’t happen overnight; they take time, planning, energy, and, of course, financial resources. We are grateful for the assistance we receive from community  partners and individuals, and our success and sustainability depends on your generous donations, now and into the future.

Your support directly impacts our ability to achieve our mission to connect our community to the outdoors through sustainable recreation. The VVMTA advocates for soft surface trails by managing trail stewardship programs, maintaining and building trails, coordinating and training volunteers, educating outdoor recreational users, and creating opportunities to access the outdoors. Our love for outdoor recreation inspires stewardship of our mountain landscape by educating, collaborating and taking action alongside fellow community members.

Your gift to VVMTA is so much more than dollars. Your contribution supports the physical and mental health of our community, promotes trail access for all, builds tangible and intangible connections, and ensures our trails endure for the long haul.

How are we using our funds this year?

  • Grow and improve our Trail Stewardship Programs

  • Create program experiences that provide access to the outdoors and encourage our community to get out and recreate responsibly

  • Plan and implement new sustainable trail systems and trail-based recreation opportunities

  • Protect and support wildlife populations through sustainable trail planning and education and outreach efforts

  • Sustain a full-time seasonal Trail Conservation Crew

  • Educate trail users on Leave No Trace principles and trail etiquette

  • Advocate for local, state, and federal policy that supports our trails and community

We are a team of resourceful and experienced experts committed to making trails in Eagle County accessible: they’re not for one, they’re for all. Regardless of why a person or group uses trails, we are all connected – by boots or wheels or paws – on common ground and with common purpose. When a community is passionate about trails, taking care of them is easy. We hope that connecting our community to the outdoors ensures our trails for everyone, now and forever.
