Mission

To provide culturally competent services that promote quality health for American Indian and Alaska Native families, and individuals, in the Denver area.

Background Statement

Please help us Continue to be the Lifeline of Denver’s Native American Community

For over four decades, Denver Indian Health and Family Services (DIHFS) has been a pillar of support for American Indian and Alaskan Native families in the Rocky Mountain region. Since 1978 our clinic has been providing *culturally relevant* health services ensuring that our community has access to the quality care they need and deserve. With Denver's Native population estimated to be between 50,000 and 60,000 people, our mission is even more vital than ever.

OUR MISSION:

At DIHFS, our mission is clear: to provide culturally competent services that promote quality health for American Indian and Alaskan Native families and individuals in the Denver area. We are committed to delivering healthcare that respects and integrates the rich cultural traditions of our community, offering a range of services that include primary care, behavioral health, wellness programs, and outreach initiatives.

WHY YOUR SUPPORT MATTERS:

The closest federal Indian Health Services facility is an eight-hour drive from Denver, making DIHFS the primary source of healthcare for thousands of Native people in the region. Our clinic is not just a healthcare provider; it is a lifeline. We are dedicated to overcoming the health disparities that our community faces, but we cannot do it alone. Your generous donation will help us:

• Expand our culturally relevant healthcare services to reach more families and individuals in need.

• Continue providing essential mental health support and substance abuse prevention tailored to our community

• Offer comprehensive wellness programs that promote long-term health and well-being

• Ensure that our services remain accessible to all, regardless of their ability to pay.

Help Us to Help Our Community! Help us launch a 24-hour nurse and health line or our community. This service will offer immediate, around-the-clock health support to our community members, ensuring they have access to care whenever they need it.

Our goal is to raise $20,000 to establish this vital lifeline. Together we can create a meaningful impact on the health and well-being of Denver’s Native population.
