Project Safeguard (PSG) supports survivors on their journey to increase safety for themselves and their families. We do this by providing non-attorney legal advocacy and attorney services that are designed to help our clients understand their rights and options within the civil legal system. Project Safeguard was incorporated in 1984 as an outgrowth of the Colorado Coalition for Justice for Abused Women (CCJAWS) formed by a small group of shelter workers, therapists, attorneys and judges who were concerned about unresponsiveness of the police and the legal system to battered women.
PSG advocates are located at the Rose Andom Center in Denver, as well as in the Adams, Arapahoe, and Denver County Courthouses. They assist and support victims in making effective use of the protections available to them through the civil legal system.
