Include Neurodivergent Youth on YVG Day

Yampa Valley Autism Program-YVAP- is the only organization in the Yampa Valley that offers neurodivergent kids aged 3-21 and their families tools and support in all facets of their lives.  From therapy for learning social skills and self-regulation techniques to support for extra-curricular activities to work-readiness and job placement, YVAP is dedicated to providing youth opportunities for independence and improved well-being.

Recognizing these kids can't do it alone, YVAP offers training workshops and support for the educators, family/caregivers, siblings, and community members who surround these kids every day.   Learning the challenges neurodivergent people face and finding ways to meet them halfway by making some accommodations opens the doors for inclusion because everybody wants to feel like they belong.

YVAP staff who have worked in the schools and are familiar with the resources available for families help guide parents in navigating the web of rules, regulations, and resources.  Sometimes, they just listen because people need to feel heard.

It's called wrap-around programming.  And YVAP is the only one in our Valley offering services that address the social, emotional, educational, and vocational needs of kids who think differently.
