When Finn was born at 24 weeks in 2016, the nurses said the best thing that I could for him was to give him human milk, or liquid gold as they referred to it. While I worked to build up my supply, Finn was given supplemental human donor milk from the Mother's Milk Bank at Rocky Mountain Children's Health Foundation. I believe that human milk saved Finn's life and gave him the strength he needed to fight for 133 days in the NICU.
Rocky Mountain Children's Health Foundation was there for my family when we needed it most. Knowing that Finn was receiving the best nutrition possible to increase his chances at life and prevent infections gave us reassurance that everyday he would get stronger.
