At Longmont Humane Society we open our arms and our hearts to thousands of animals every year. Dogs, cats, and small mammals that are lost, surrendered or abandoned will receive loving attention, nutritious food, meticulous health care, and daily exercise during their stay at our facility.

Longmont Humane Society stands out among animal shelters in our unwavering commitment to the holistic well-being of every furry resident – we do not euthanize for space or behavior issues, except in very extreme cases – over 98% of all animals who enter our care find their way into happy, loving homes, (well over the Colorado and national average). At the heart of our mission lies a dedicated and passionate behavior and training team, driven by the belief that every animal deserves a second chance and a loving home.

Our unique approach goes beyond providing food and shelter. We understand that each animal comes with a unique story, personality, and sometimes, challenges. That's why we've invested in a team of experts who specialize in understanding animal behavior, creating tailored training plans, and nurturing the emotional and psychological needs of our furry friends.

From shy kittens to boisterous pups, our behavior and training team works tirelessly to address anxiety, fear, and any behavioral issues that might hinder these animals from finding their forever families. Through positive reinforcement, patience, and personalized care, we transform their lives and set them on the path to becoming beloved companions.

Our commitment to our animals doesn't end when they find their forever homes. In fact, it's just the beginning of a lifelong partnership that we establish with our adopters. We recognize that the transition from shelter life to a new home can be both exciting and challenging, and we're here to provide unwavering support every step of the way.

Our dedication to creating well-adjusted and adoptable animals has garnered recognition not only within our community but also beyond. Longmont Humane Society receives hundreds of requests from animal shelters across the country to transfer their difficult cases into our care, and when we have space, we welcome them. It's not uncommon for other animal shelters to seek out our guidance and training methods, acknowledging our shelter as a beacon of knowledge and innovation.

When you support Longmont Humane Society, you're not just contributing to a building with walls; you're supporting a haven of transformation, where animals are not only rescued but are also given the tools they need to thrive in their new homes. Join us in making a difference that goes beyond the surface, as we shape brighter futures and create heartwarming success stories, one animal at a time.
