At Pikes Peak Makerspace, we strive to provide equipment and education that enables hobbyists, designers, and inventors to collaborate and turn their ideas into physical things. Despite a setback from Covid, we now find ourselves in a period of rapid organizational development as we welcome an increasing number of new members. It is important that we do everything we can to strengthen the foundation and improve safety of the workspace for our growing community.
When surveyed, 68% of our members use or plan to use the table saw and it is anticipated that number will increase exponentially by the end of 2023. Our 1966 Powermatic 66 Table Saw is the most popular tool in the woodshop. It is also one of the most dangerous tools in the shop. The SawStop Table Saw can prevent serious injury or death by stopping the blade from spinning when it comes into contact with skin, as well as improve air quality for all members within the building with superior dust collection.
This year, for Colorado Gives Day, we are hoping you will consider supporting Pikes Peak Makerspace so we can purchase the SawStop Table Saw to protect our growing community from serious harm and continue empowering over 130 aspiring craftspeople in the Pikes Peak Region by providing access to high quality woodworking equipment.
