FUNDRASING GOAL

The Hubert L. “Hooks” Jones (HLHJ) Chapter, Denver, Colorado is conducting this fundraising drive to raise $10,000 in donations to support the James Irwin Charter School’s Power Technical (PTEC) Trades Study Program in 2025.

FUNDING PURPOSE

Awardees of these scholarships are required to use the funding to help pay for their PTEC training and initial tool costs.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

All recipients must be 11th or 12th grade high school students, who have shown the aptitude, personal discipline, determination and skills to enter the trade-based workforce and be successful in their chosen trade. 

Applicants must be currently enrolled in a PTEC trade-based career pathway program. 

Applicants must provide actual examples of their work-product. Examples of work-products include: (1) construction and shop projects, (2) model aircraft, rockets or other Computer Aided Design (CAD) projects, (3) mechanical inventions, and (4) working models of automotive or equipment repairs. 

African American students, male or female, are particularly encouraged to apply, however no particular race or ethnicity is required to be eligible for an award.

This HLHJ and PTEC Trades-based Scholarship Program is 100% funded by donations and sponsorships. 

By lending your financial support, you’ll become a valuable part of investing in our youth while also assisting us in preparing them to enter the trades-based workforce with the necessary skills to be successful while also having the character and work ethic to become the most valuable members in their chosen trade.
