Sheila Cohen Supports Zonta Foothlls Foundation

"Women and girls represent half the world's population and, therefore, also half of its potential. Aside from being a fundamental human right, gender equality is essential to achieve peaceful societies, with full human potential and sustainable development" (UN.org)  

The word Zonta comes from a Lakota Sioux Indian word that means "honest and trustworthy". Founded in 1919, Zonta is an international organization dedicated to improving life for women and girls the world over. Zonta Foothills Foundation believes that every woman and girl deserves to live a safe, healthy and empowered life.

I have been a member of the of this strong organization for over 2 years. I am inspired by women working together to change the lives of women and families through education, mentorship and advocacy. We are united in ending violence against women, eradicating child marriage, improving women’s health and reproductive freedoms, saying NOW to climate justice, and ensuring economic opportunity through education.
