Suicide is the leading cause of death for youth in Colorado. The crisis of youth suicide has affected communities in nearly every part of the state. Families continue to face obstacles paying for and accessing vital resources for their children. Mental health treatment is expensive and can prevent youth from accessing life-saving care.
This is where Second Wind Fund steps in.
We believe that every child and teen at risk for suicide should have access to the mental health treatment they need. We match youth at risk for suicide with licensed therapists in their communities. If a financial or social barrier to treatment is present, we pay for up to 12 sessions of therapy from one of our specialized network providers. Our unique program allows us to save a life for just $1,000 by creating access for youth to discover hope and healing in their lives.
Our organization's mission has remained the core focus of our nonprofit since day one. As a result of the growing need for our services, we have served over 6,500 youth since our organization was founded in 2002. Each youth served represents a potential life saved.
Please consider making a donation to help save the lives of youth in our communities. Every contribution makes a difference by placing youth in life-saving mental health counseling. Thank you for your support!
