$25,000 Goal

Colorado Doula Project (CDP) is a grassroots non-profit organization that provides free logistical, financial, and emotional support for people getting an abortion in Colorado—both Coloradans and abortion seekers fleeing home state bans. We work with abortion providers and more than 180 volunteers to provide personalized assistance to each client, like helping them find abortion care, providing funding for procedure and travel, and connecting them with a trained volunteer abortion doula.

Mission

It is our ongoing mission to ensure that everyone accessing abortion in Colorado has travel support, a reliable ride to and from their appointment, a safe place to stay, food to eat, and a trained volunteer abortion doula to help them navigate the experience.

Background Statement

Colorado Doula Project (CDP) was founded in 2015 as a grassroots, volunteer-based collective of abortion doulas and reproductive justice advocates. The founders recognized a gap in reproductive services offered within Colorado: while access to abortion was unrestricted, no organization within the state provided the practical support—rides, meals, a place to stay, and emotional support—that people needed as they navigated their abortion experience. In addition to practical support, CDP helps clients fund their abortion procedures.

Together we envision and work towards a world where reproductive justice is not only a given, but a right for all individuals and families, regardless of sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, race, ethnicity, class, and background.
